If nuclear fusion is such a great thing worth a giant amount of our govs investment

then, why oh why, keeps the sun shining like 149 600 000 km away from the earth?

Now there's not much of a difference between a nuclear meltdown and a nuclear fusion, cause judging from all the facts that I've read about uranium it turns out to be another branchless fossil fuel, not more or less renewable than coal, oil or gas.
