The death penalty is quite the opposite of truth and justice

It doesn't solve one thing but merely adds more chaos to the ongoing trouble: made-up stories, lies, wrong accusations, false claims, empty promises - anything that might help the defendant be found guilty.
Finally, as the perpetrator gets assassinated, people don't learn from it neither do they change their own misbehavior for the better. Where there should be love and enlightenment at the succesful end of a trial, nothing but a blind spot on the heart of society is left. Hate, fear and violence in humans increase while the state's intellectual level sinks below zero. Democracy fails again. Capitalism (=dying for money) reigns.
