Radioactive Wastes from Oil and Gas Drilling

But Hey, let's look on the bright side of petroleum:
[...]Approximately 30,000 m³ (1 million cubic feet) of mud — equivalent to the contents of a dozen Olympic-size swimming pools — are expelled per day.[2] It is expected that the flow will continue for the next 30 years.[...]
[...]After investigations by independent experts, police have concluded the mud flow was an "underground blow out", triggered by the drilling activity.[...]
Principles
The theory above is based on the following hypotheses:
- The source of inflation is fundamentally derived from the growth rate of the money supply.
- The supply of money is exogenous.
- The demand for money, as reflected in its velocity, is a stable function of nominal income, interest rates, and so forth.
- The mechanism for injecting money into the economy is not that important in the long run.
- The real interest rate is determined by non-monetary factors: (productivity of capital, time preference). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantity_theory_of_money
In the paper, Copernicus postulated the principle that "bad money drives out good",[4] which later came to be referred to as Gresham's Law after a later describer, Sir Thomas Gresham. This phenomenon had been noted earlier by Nicole Oresme, but Copernicus rediscovered it independently. Gresham's Law is still known in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe as Kopernik's Law.[5]
In the same work, Copernicus also formulated an early version of the quantity theory of money,[2] or the relation between a stock of money, its velocity, its price level, and the output of an economy. Like many later classical economists of the 18th and 19th centuries, he focused on the connection between increased money supply and inflation.[6]
Monetae cudendae ratio also draws a distinction between the use value and exchange value of commodities, anticipating by some 250 years the use of these concepts by Adam Smith—although it, too, had antecedents in earlier writers, including Aristotle. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monetae_cudendae_ratio
Degradation of the whole fuel element
Water and zirconium can react violently at 1200 °C, at the same temperature the zircaloy cladding can react with uranium dioxide to form zirconium oxide and a uranium/zirconium alloy melt.

Prevention
Cancer prevention is defined as active measures to decrease the incidence of cancer.[32] Greater than 30% of cancer is preventable via avoiding risk factors including: tobacco, overweight or obesity, low fruit and vegetable intake, physical inactivity, alcohol, sexually transmitted infection, air pollution.[33] This can be accomplished by avoiding carcinogens or altering their metabolism, pursuing a lifestyle or diet that modifies cancer-causing factors and/or medical intervention (chemoprevention, treatment of pre-malignant lesions). The epidemiological concept of "prevention" is usually defined as either primary prevention, for people who have not been diagnosed with a particular disease, or secondary prevention, aimed at reducing recurrence or complications of a previously diagnosed illness. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cancer
